You open the practice software on a Friday afternoon to answer one question: are we having a good month. Forty minutes later you have three printouts and a different question. Dashboards exist so that the Friday question takes one click, and so that the provider, hygiene and collections questions each have their own page.
What does the screen show?
Seven boards, one per question:
| Board | The question | Headline tile | Follows the date bar |
|---|---|---|---|
| Practice | How are we doing? | Gross production | Yes, with compare |
| Provider | Who is on pace? | Production month to date | The by-provider table only |
| Hygiene | Are patients rebooking? | Hygiene production | Yes |
| Operatory | Are the chairs full? | Utilisation, last two weeks | No, fixed window |
| Health Score | How do we grade? | Score out of 100 | No, twelve months |
| Growth | Are we gaining patients? | Active patients | No, trailing twelve months |
| Collections | What is owed? | Collected, plus AR | Yes, with compare |
The date bar offers nine presets and any range up to 400 days. Three boards use fixed windows and say so on the tile. Every chart switches to the table behind it, and every table exports.
My Dashboards is the eighth page: the one you build. Pin any tile or chart from the twelve reports, set a period and a provider, name it and save. Up to 20 dashboards of 20 widgets per office. If the AI service is configured you can describe the page in a sentence and review what Calibic proposes before saving.
What does it read from my practice software?
Read-only. The range boards read daily rollups built from procedurelog, payment, adjustment and appointment on Open Dental; from admin.v_proclog, admin.payment_view, admin.adjustment_view, admin.v_appointment and admin.operatory_view on Dentrix; and from transactions_header, appointment, chairs and custom_hours on Eaglesoft. Health Score and Growth read twelve months of inputs.
Is it live on my system?
LIVE on Open Dental and Dentrix, all seven boards and My Dashboards. On Eaglesoft the boards are partial: Operatory is not available yet because chair hours are not verified, the Provider board withholds acceptance and production per hour, and New patients is labelled “charts created” because that is what the field means.
What it does not do
Share links, scheduled email and a PDF of a custom dashboard are ROADMAP. In the app you add widgets with a button and reorder with arrows; there is no drag. A range lives in the page address, so a colleague who is signed in can open the same view from a link, but nobody outside the account can.
Next step
Open the Practice board on your own data in a demo. Reports lists the rows behind every tile, and the dental KPI dashboard guide explains which numbers belong on the first screen.
