Every practice system records different things, with different gaps. A tool that claims to watch everything on all of them is guessing on at least one. This page is the list.

BETA on Eaglesoft means the screen works, but any figure whose meaning we have not yet verified against a real Eaglesoft office reads “not available yet”, never $0. Local ranking, competitors and reviews read public listing data, so they do not depend on your practice software.
As of 2026-10-04, of 345 audit checks in Protect, 103 run on Dentrix, 95 on Open Dental and about 67 on Eaglesoft. The console’s own Coverage screen shows the current count for your install and names every limited check and the reason.
What does Calibic actually read?
Read-only, in every case. The agent has no code path that writes, and the Security page explains how that is enforced.
Open Dental. MySQL tables including securitylog (who did what, when, on which workstation, with the before and after amounts parsed from the log text), histappointment, deletedobject, procedurelog and userod for user names. The text of clinical notes is not read.
Dentrix. Views over ODBC including admin.appthist for appointment history, admin.payment_view and admin.adjustment_view, plus patient, procedure and user account records. Dentrix does not stamp a user on every record, so some Protect checks cannot name who made a change and are shown as limited instead of running quietly.
Eaglesoft. SQL Anywhere tables over ODBC, including transactions_header, appointment_provider, patient, procedure, payment, adjustment and refund records. Eaglesoft is polled rather than read from a change log, so a change is seen as a difference between two reads and its time is the sync time, not the workstation clock.
Why is coverage different per system?
Three reasons, and the console shows which applies to each check.
- Values. Some sources say that something changed but not what it was before. A rule like “the amount went down” cannot run without both numbers.
- Actor. No user on the record means no “who”. The check runs but cannot name a person.
- Clock. A date without a time, or a poll instead of a log, means “after hours” cannot be judged.
Silence is never reported as safety. If a check cannot run on your system, the screen says so before any event arrives.
How fresh are the numbers?
Core figures refresh in one to two minutes on Dentrix and Open Dental, and in two to sixty minutes on Eaglesoft. Every card shows its as-of time.
