About Calibic: built by a dentist-led team

Who makes Calibic, why it is read-only, and the audit of 1.4 million practice change events that shaped it. No named founder yet, and we say so plainly.

Calibic is a small team that spent a year reading dental practice databases and throwing away most of what the software wanted to shout about. This page says who we are and what we believe, without the parts we cannot yet back up.

Who is behind Calibic?

A small group of people who have worked at the front desk, in the operatory and in the code. We do not list names here yet. When we do, each one will come with the practice, the software they ran and the role they hold, because a bio without those is decoration. If you want to know who you are talking to before a demo, email hello@calibic.com and ask.

Where did the product come from?

From an audit, not from a pitch. We took about 1.4 million real change events from three live practices, one each on Open Dental, Dentrix and Eaglesoft, and replayed every alert rule the old monitoring tools used. They raised 5,959 alerts. When we removed the ones that were a first entry rather than a change, a date rather than a time, or a fact the data never actually showed, 15 remained. That figure is an anonymised example from our own audit, and we publish the method so you can argue with it.

The lesson was simple. A practice does not need more numbers. It needs fewer, with the source attached, checked against what actually happened afterwards.

What do we believe?

Four rules, and we hold the product to them.

Subtract until it is true. A recall count of 9,012 overdue patients against 8,813 active patients is noise. Calibic counts active patients only, one recall each, due within 24 months, and says so on the card.

Never write to your software. The agent reads Open Dental, Dentrix and Eaglesoft. It cannot post a payment, book an appointment or delete a record, because the code has no path to do it. See Security.

Show the source. Every list names the table it came from and the time it was read. If Ask answers a question, the sources are listed under the answer.

Say what we cannot see. Each practice system records different things. Dentrix does not stamp a user on every record. Eaglesoft is polled, so the time of a change is the time we noticed it. The Coverage page lists what runs on your system and what does not, instead of pretending it all does.

What is with the name?

Calibrate, then act. The wordmark has two teal letters among ink ones: the signal inside the noise. That is the whole brand idea and it is the whole product idea.

What we are not

We are not a messaging company; texting and campaigns are ROADMAP. We are not a certification; nobody certifies HIPAA, so we say built for HIPAA and send a Business Associate Agreement with every sign up. We do not hold a SOC 2 report. We do not read X-rays. We are an analytics layer that reads your records and tells you what is worth acting on today.

Next step: see what Calibic does and does not do on your software, or contact us.
